Announcing the Motion Array Ad Challenge Winners

Motion Array 23/06/2021 3 min read

We are truly thrilled that the Motion Array Ad Challenge brought so much talent together.

We were very impressed with all the submissions that made it in! It was a tough call, but our judges did make their final choices for the best ad.

And now without further ado, here are our winners:

1st Place: Noel Fenez

Noel took us through his creative process:

When I first saw that you were putting on a contest, I was excited to show off my creative abilities with Motion Array. After some brainstorming for the product to use, I decided on a summer drink called “Refresh”.

I created it in the same way I normally use Motion Array for my videos. Once I came up with the concept, I explored the library of assets and added to a collection everything that I liked and thought would match the style (a very useful feature). From there, I downloaded assets and templates one by one as needed during the editing process.

I combined the templates and assets to achieve the final look I wanted; it was all created in After Effects.

As for assets, all the assets were from Motion Array, from the sound design to all visuals (templates, motion graphics, stock footage, etc). Here is a list of the assets I downloaded:

The only thing that wasn’t from Motion Array was the design of the can, which I created myself.

I think the power of Motion Array is that it can be as simple as dragging and dropping assets into a template, but can also be very powerful when you modify and create complex effects by adding multiple templates together to achieve the desired look.

Judges’ decision: Noel’s eye-catching fast-paced commercial won him first place thanks to his creative use of Motion Array templates and assets, and an original design.

Congratulations, Noel! You take home the following prizes:

  • iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil
  • Sony XM4 headphones
  • Full access to the best package a filmmaker needs:

We can’t wait to see the amazing work you will create in the future!

2nd Place: Raphael David Condor

Raphael explained his creative process:

Actually, I only have a Free subscription for both sites so I chose what was readily available to me and what matched my idea for the product. I wanted a dynamic template paired with very lively background music. For the product idea itself, I wanted to film tricks with it to make the overall advertisement dynamic and catchy, and so I thought about a fidget spinner, which is great for creating very energetic shots. I really had fun filming and editing for this challenge and I appreciate this great opportunity very much.

Here is a list of the assets I used for my edit:

Judges’ Decision: We loved Raphael’s creative use of music and Motion Array assets, as well as the visually appealing edit and final look.

Congratulations, Raphael! You win a great creator bundle:

  • 1-year subscription to Motion Array
  • 1-year subscription to Artgrid Creator
  • 1-year subscription to Artlist Music

Remember to keep us in the loop as you create new impressive videos.

3rd Place: Joanna Gryzewska

Joanna took us through her creative process:

I wanted my advertisement to have a clean look and light feeling, so I took some cool elements from different templates (btw, I’m using them very often in my other projects).

This is the list of the assets I used:

I had so much fun that I recorded the whole ad 3 times entirely. Each time with a slightly different background, bottle, and scenario. Each version was better than the previous one, so I chose the last take for the final video!

Judges’ Decision: What stood out to us was Joanna’s idea and her use of color grading and complementary assets.

Congratulations, Joanna! You win an amazing creator pack that includes:

  • 6-month subscription to Motion Array
  • 1-year subscriptions to Artgrid Creator
  • 1-year subscriptions to Artlist Music

We hope this encourages you to continue sharing your creativity with your friends, followers, and us.

But wait, we also wanted to appreciate another submission that really showed creativity and originality.
