In this video we explore how to use the gradient wipe effect in Premiere Pro to make an amazing transition. This effect seems to be used frequently in high quality travel videos and appears to have been popularized by filmmaker Sam Kolder. This transition utilizes the gradient wipe effect which takes into account the brightest and darkest parts of your image in order to determine where your footage becomes transparent. By keyframing the basic variables in this effect, you effectively create a transition that is completely unique to each piece of footage. The best part is that the resulting transition is based on what is actually in your shot, giving it the impression of being completely custom made every single time.
